The Library is open to all physicians and employees in
the Sutter Health Central Valley Region.

Literature Searches

The Medical Librarian is available to do research and mediated literature searches on medical, nursing, allied health, pharmacological, health management, and patient education topics.

Table of Contents Service

A service is designed to keep you up-to-date with
information about the latest journal publications and
Internet-based resources as they become available.
If you need the table of contents of a specific journal which we have a subscription to, please contact the Library.

Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan

The Library can request materials for you from other institutions if they are not available in our collections. The turnaround time may be one hour up to one week depending on what you are requesting and where your materials are coming from.

Checking out Materials

Books and videos may be checked out for one day up to two weeks depending on the item. You may only renew a borrowed item once. If you need longer time, please contact the Librarian directly. For employees, items can not be held for more than one month; for physicians, not more than three months. Please return the materials to the Library during business hours or to the Drop Box near the Chapel in the hospital. Please do not return the borrowed items to the Library after work hours. Physicians and employees may copy work related material at no cost.

After Hours Access

Physicians and all clinical staff have badge access after work hours. Please follow the instructions on the counter-top in the Library.

Use of Computers in the PC Resource Center

The PC Resource Center has 13 computers available with basic Microsoft Office applications, Internet Access, Meditech, SHIMR for nursing, Healthstream, typing tutor software and more.
