Bariatric Surgery Program
Memorial Medical Center is a part of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), designated by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). To be included in the program, a center must:
- Complete more than 7,000 bariatric procedures.
- Incorporate surgical, medical, nutritional and behavioral evaluations, education and ongoing support.
- Have a dedicated bariatric operating room, nursing unit and staff for bariatric surgery patients.
Aetna Institute of Quality®
Bariatric Surgery Facility
Memorial Medical Center has also been designated an Aetna Institute of Quality® (IOQ) Bariatric Surgery Facility for treating individuals living with morbid or extreme obesit.
