    SUPPORT GROUPS

    • Blood Cancers Support Group
      Free. Monthly group for patients, parents, family and friends who have been affected by leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, myeloma or any other blood cancers. Sponsored by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. For information, call 526-4500, ext. 6505.

    • Breast Cancer Support Group
      Free. For women who have breast cancer. Provides a place to share concerns with others and to cope. Ongoing, meets 2nd Tuesday of each month. For information, please call 526-4500, ext. 6505.

    • Breastfeeding Assistance Program
      Provides outpatient, inpatient and phone consultations for breastfeeding difficulties and questions. For information, please call 572-7262.

    • Cardiac Independence Program
      Ongoing. For information, please call 572-7262.

    • Diabetes Support Group
      Free. For people with diabetes. Meets 3rd Monday of each month. For information, please call 572-7262.

    • Maintenance and Beyond
      Free. For weight loss surgery patients who have reached goal weight. Seating is limited. For reservations, call 572-7262.

    • Mommy and Me
      Free. For mothers with infants. Meets weekly. For information, please call 572-7262.

    • Pulmonary Independence Program
      Ongoing. For information, please call 572-7262.

    • Recreational Opportunities for Cancer Kids (R.O.C.K.)
      A monthly program of fun activities for local children who are being treated for, or are recovering from cancer. R.O.C.K. kids' siblings and parents are also welcome to the events. For information, please call 209-530-3600.

    • Weight Loss Surgery Support Group
      Provides topics specific to the needs of the bariatric patient. Open to patients, their family or friends, and anyone considering surgery. Meets monthly. For information, please call 572-7262.

    • Writing Through Cancer Group
      A recurring 10-session group for cancer survivors and their family members or their caregivers. Please call 569-7789.


    CLASSES

    • Breastfeeding/Newborn Care Class
      A certified lactation consultant provides information about breastfeeding, getting started and how to avoid breastfeeding difficulties. Register for this class by the seventh month of pregnancy. The fee is $20. For information or to register, please call 572-7262.

    • Childbirth Education
      A five-week series of classes gives expectant parents the tools and knowledge to make the transition from pregnancy to parenthood. Breastfeeding instruction is included. Register for this class by the fourth or fifth month of pregnancy. The fee for the series of classes is $75. For information or to register, please call 572-7262.

    • Daddy 101
      Free. A three-week series beginning the first Thursday of every month. New and expectant dads can learn the ropes about baby care, infant behavior, baby illness, safety and childproofing techniques. For information or to register, call 572-7262.

    • Hip or Knee ReplacementTwice monthly. Meets 2nd Tuesday and the 4th Tuesday of each month. For class information, please call 526-4500, ext. 6470.

    • Lifesaving Skills for Infants and Children (Community)
      An American Heart Association class for parents, grandparents or other adults caring for children who want to learn about accident prevention, CPR and how to relieve choking in infants and children. $15 per person, $25 per couple. To register, please call 548-7888.

    • SafeSitters Babysitting Class
      Medically accurate classs that teaches 11 to 13-year-olds how to handle emergencies when babysitting. For schedule and class information, please call 548-7888.

    • Weight Loss Surgery Seminars
      For individuals considering or planning on weight loss surgery. Meets 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of each month. For information and reservations, please call 525-3885.

    • Pediatric Pre-Operative Class and Tour
