    Employment At-Will

If you are offered and accept employment with a Sutter Health Affiliate, your employment will be employment "at-will," which means you may terminate the employer-employee relationship at any time, for any reason or for no reason at all. It also means that the Sutter Health Affiliate that employs you may terminate your employment at any time, with or without notice, for any non-discriminatory reason or no reason at all. If you have any questions regarding employment at-will, please contact the Human Resources Department representative at the Sutter Health Affiliate to which you are applying or intend to apply. Please note that the "at-will" employment relationship at any Sutter Health Affiliate cannot be modified except in a written document signed by the Affiliate's Chief Executive Officer or his or her designee (e.g., a written employment agreement or collective bargaining agreement).

    Reference and Background Checking

Applying for this job authorizes the Sutter Health Affiliate to which you are applying to contact any of your schools, your current* and former employers, or other references for the purpose of collecting information and/or obtaining an account of your work experience and skills. Further, by checking this box, you agree to hold any and all of your reference sources harmless and free of any liability for releasing such information. Please note that, if an offer of employment is made, a more extensive background check is part of the employment decision-making process and you will need to sign a "Disclosure and Authorization to Obtain Consumer Report for Employment Purposes" form as part of this pre-employment process.

(* Please note that the point at which your prospective hiring supervisor will contact your current employer may vary; however, this is most commonly done on a pre-employment basis, usually after the initial interview. This practice is very rarely performed on a pre-interview basis. If you have concerns about having your current employer contacted, please communicate those concerns to the person who conducts your initial interview to determine what, if any, alternatives exist.)

    Employment Eligibility Verification

All offers of employment by a Sutter Health Affiliate are conditioned on the provision of satisfactory proof of your identity and legal authority to work in the United States. Post Offer, Pre-Employment Medical Examination

Each Sutter Health Affiliate has distinct policies and procedures regarding post-offer/pre-employment medical screening. If you need additional information, please consult the Human Resources Department representative at the Sutter Health Affiliate to which you are applying.

Most Sutter Health Affiliates require a limited medical and screening examination and clearance from the provider designated by your potential prospective employer. This initial exam will be provided to you at no charge. Your exam will include an assessment according to the standard procedures of your prospective employer, as needed, based on each Sutter Health Affiliate's pre-employment requirements, the physical requirements and essential functions of the position you are being offered, and the degree of patient contact. An exam would typically include (but may not be limited to): a urine test (for the presence of prohibited controlled substances); TB skin test(s) with a follow-up exam in 48-72 hours; a limited mobility test and eye exam; and a blood draw (unless you have acceptable, recent verification of current vaccines for Measles/Mumps and Rubella).

In order to ensure a successful exam, please bring your current vaccination records, prescription drug information, corrective eyewear/prescription, and your position description (which you should obtain from your prospective supervisor). If you have any disabilities, you should voluntarily make this information known to the exam provider. This information, as well as other aspects of your exam, are kept confidential.

If you do not receive medical clearance, you will be advised of that fact by the exam provider, the prospective supervisor, or the Affiliate's employment/human resources representative. In such a situation, you will not be eligible for employment in the specific position for which you have applied. If applicable, you should contact the Employment Office/Human Resources Department of the Sutter Health Affiliate to which you are applying to discuss whether a reasonable accommodation can be made.

By submitting an application for consideration, you acknowledge your understanding and agreement that failure to successfully complete the required post-offer, pre-employment medical/screening exam will result in the Sutter Health Affiliate taking back (rescinding) the employment offer or terminating your employment.
