    Employee Assistance Program

Memorial's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a service that benefits employees and their immediate dependents by providing professional counseling services for personal, family and work-related concerns. The EAP's goal is to help people live healthier, happier, more productive lives by providing them with the education, motivation and personal empowerment necessary to maintain emotional balance between their personal and work lives. The EAP is a service provided at no charge to employees.

    About the EAP

The EAP provides employees and their covered dependents with individual, couple or family counseling to help them resolve problems that might interfere with job performance or family life. Counseling is completely confidential, in accordance with federal and state regulations, and is also regulated by Knox-Keene State Law, which specifies how many counseling sessions an employee or a family member may attend (each covered person is entitled to three sessions every six months). Children under 18 years of age must have both parents' written permission prior to receiving EAP services.

The EAP provides employees with confidential counseling and assistance concerning a variety of situations, including but not limited to parenting problems, relationship/marriage problems, financial problems, coworker or supervisor conflicts, absenteeism, anger management, physical abuse, substance use or abuse, mood problems, anxiety reactions, trauma and grief.

The EAP benefits employers by promoting their employees' health and safety and increasing productivity; decreasing employee turnover; reducing absenteeism, sick leave and medical or disability claims; reducing accidents and workers' compensation claims; and increasing employee morale.
